Welcome to Waste Revolution
Join South Africa’s leading waste sector decision makers as they engage with each other and with global and national thought leaders and policy makers on the sustainable management and reduction of Mining Waste and other issues relating to sustainable waste management and reduction in the mining sector in South Africa. The Seminar will be held in Witbank in November and will include presentations from leading speakers and experts in the broader mining and waste sector.
The Waste Revolution Seminar Series will explore ways in which various industries can work towards a more sustainable way of managing their waste products. These one day events will bring together thought leaders and key industry players to present and discuss the latest waste management strategies.
The first Waste Revolution Seminar will focus on mining. The mining sector is by far the biggest contributor to the solid waste stream in South Africa and the passing of the new Waste Law and the proposed National Waste Management Strategy indicate that sustainable management of waste is an issue that can no longer be ignored. New legislation is focused on waste minimisation which means that the mining sector is going to have to review its strategies for waste management in order to comply with these new laws.
