The Waste Revolution Seminar Series will explore ways in which various industries can work towards a more sustainable way of managing their waste products.  These one day events will bring together thought leaders and key industry players to present and discuss the latest waste management strategies. What are the Waste Revolution Seminar Series trying to achieve?

The Waste Revolution Seminar Series aim to address the current state of waste in various industries. The passing of the new Waste Law and the proposed National Waste Management Strategy indicate that sustainable management of waste is an issue that can no longer be ignored. The Seminar Series will focus on specific industries and bring thought leaders and experts in that sector together to discuss the future of waste management and reduction in that industry.

When and where are the Waste Revolution Seminar Series going to be held?

The next Seminar in the Waste Revolution Seminar Series will be held in Johannesburg on the 16th August 2011. The Seminar aims to consider the detrimental effects of current waste disposal technologies and the advancement of renewable and sustainable solutions. Join the business community as they gather to learn about and discuss the responsibilities of the business sector and government in the context of the new waste act and the by-laws pertaining to the City of Johannesburg, Tshwane and Ekurhuleni municipalities, as well the economic opportunities created by this legislation Click here for more information.

We would like to invite contributors to send in presentation topics that are focused on the new waste act and by-laws. Contributors are welcome to submit any articles that they deem relevant.  Please would you submit a synopsis of your proposed presentation as well as a CV. The media plays a critical role in advancing sustainability and facilitating a move away from unsustainable practices by exposing what is bad and providing people with facts, information and knowledge about what is good.  The Waste Revolution Handbook strives to achieve this knowledge transfer in the waste sector by providing an academic publication with contributions from industry experts and thought leaders.
