Plastics Federation of South Africa
The Plastics Federation of South Africa (PFSA) represents the Plastics Industry of South Africa. The Federation members represent all sectors of the SA Plastics Industry including polymer producers and importers, converters, machine suppliers and recyclers. The plastics chain in South Africa employs over 40 000 people, and is defined as a priority sector by Government. The combined turnover of the industry is some R 35 billion per annum and consumption is approx 1,5 million ton per annum. The Federation provides industry training and drives the Plastics Industry Environmental initiative. It operates from three centres: the Head Office in Midrand, Gauteng and the two regional centres located in Pinetown KZN and in Cape Town.

Polystyrene Packaging Council
The Polystyrene Packaging Council focus their priorities on promoting the sustainable development of their products. Our activities are intended to assist the producers, customer and ultimate users.As well as promoting the benefits of our products, we address key public concerns related to the use of PS and EPS. This is done using a science based decision making process and forms part of our commitment to Responsible Care.
eWaste Association of South Africa
The e-Waste Association of South Africa (eWASA) was established in 2008 to manage the establishment of a sustainable environmentally sound e-waste management system for the country. Since then the non-profit organisation has been working with manufactures, vendors and distributors of electronic and electrical goods and e-waste handlers (including re-furbishers, dismantlers and recyclers) to manage e-waste effectively.
South African Plastics Recycling Organisation (SAPRO)
The South African Plastics Recycling Organisation (SAPRO) represent the plastics recyclers in South Africa. Our members purchase sorted recyclable plastics which is then size reduced, washed and dried and pelletised. The recycled materials are sold as raw material to plastics convertors in South Africa and some neighbouring countries. Major market sectors include, amongst others, packaging and building films, injection moulded articles and irrigation pipes. More than 228 000 tons of plastics scrap was recycled in 2009 by 200 plastics recycling companies.
