COMPANY OVERVIEW

GGES is a 100% black women owned business with more than 25 years combined experience in Environmental Management (EM), Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RM). The two founders and Managing Members Tankiso Phidza and Andiswa Silinga own 50% shares each.

Tankiso Phidza has 14 years Environmental Management experience in the Department of Environmental Affairs and Eskom Power Stations. Tankiso has BSc in Botany, Zoology and a Diploma in Safety Management.

Andiswa Silinga has 13 years GIS experience in diamond and platinum Exploration and water management. Andiswa has MSc in GIS for Spatial Analysis and Environmental Management; she is also a registered Professional GIS Practitioner.

Environmental Management services focus on assisting construction and mining sectors on best environmental practice for assurance to legal compliance, conformance to environmental management systems and protecting and restoring the natural environment. The aim is to ensure that businesses limit their negative impact on the environment while continuing to function in an efficient manner. GIS services support the EM services through capturing, storage, analysis and mapping of the environmental information and changes. GIS is used as a strategic tool to automate processes, transform environmental management operations by collecting new knowledge, and support decisions. GIS services are also offered in various businesses across public and private sectors, in areas such as housing development, exploration, marketing, telecommunications, crime and policing, education, health and local government. Capacity building services is responding to the national shortage of skills. GGES offer skills development in the Environmental Management, Waste Management and GIS profession. The aim is to increase productivity and innovation in businesses. GGES is in a process of getting accreditation for training in Environmental Management with Local Government SETA (LGSETA).

Our project experience include amendment of the Environmental Management Programme for a low housing project, development of a GIS based progress monitoring system for housing projects, GIS training of municipal officials, development of a GIS system for an exploration company, GIS Mapping for Agricultural Feasibility Study for a local municipality.
